Running is simple — humans are literally born to run. But building a sustainable running life takes some thought. A good coach helps you start where you are, make smart training decisions, avoid the common mistakes that lead to injury, and stay consistent long enough to see real progress. This is especially important for older runners, when recovery, strength, mobility, and long-term health matter as much as mileage or pace. Coaching gives you a knowledgeable partner in the process: someone who can help you run better, stay healthier, and keep moving for years to come.

About David Baker

David Baker is a runner, writer, and certified running coach based in Mesa, Arizona. Like many runners, he didn’t begin with dreams of marathons or world records. He simply wanted to get healthier and maybe not have to keep buying bigger pants. Today, David has completed more than 45 marathons, including five of the six World Marathon Majors, earned a Guinness World Record, and completed a one-day rim-to-rim-to-rim crossing of the Grand Canyon. His passion is helping runners over 40 build a lifelong relationship with running through smart training, injury prevention, and a genuine love of the sport.
